Tobacco-Free at CofC

View Campus MapThe College of Charleston has been tobacco-free since 2014. Our Tobacco-Free Campus Policy ensures that the College's campus remains a healthy, inviting environment for students, faculty, staff and guests.

This policy stipulates that no use of tobacco is allowed on any campus property, and that covers all forms of tobacco, including smokeless (chew or dip) and e-cigarettes or any form of vaping device. This policy covers all areas of campus, including the College's satellite properties such as Harbor Walk, the Patriots Point Athletic Complex and Grice Marine Lab. (You can view a detailed campus map for areas covered under the policy on these web pages.)

The College adopted this policy to support a healthy working and living environment and general wellness. Overall, the policy is intended to encourage healthy lifestyles. So, if you are a tobacco user who is thinking about quitting, take a look around this website for resources and methods of cessation. And keep in mind that the Office of Human Resources can help you find cessation workshops.
